The Rock-Spirits of Arnhem Land

The thin, elusive spirit-beings of the Aboriginal peoples of Arnhem Land in northern Australia — the lands of stone country and the great rock-art galleries. This series honours the Mimis, the slender fairy-like spirits who dwell in the rock crevices and who, in the Dreaming, taught the first people the arts of life, treated with respect for a living Aboriginal tradition.
